The $1,000 Self-Defense Scholarship
The Blade Guru website is thrilled to offer the $1,000 Self-Defense Scholarship. It is available to any undergraduate and postgraduate college student. The $1,000 scholarship grant can be used toward course materials, books, and other educational resources.
Submission Guidelines:
Essay Topic:
Submit an essay on the following topic (at least 750 words).
Topic:
We’re passionate about self-defense. Unfortunately, our world can be dangerous at times. Because of this, it’s important to prepare yourself for the worst.
Your essay MUST answer the following questions:
- What does self-defense mean to you?
- Why is self-defense an important skill to learn?
- What steps can you take to learn self-defense?
Eligibility Requirements:
If you are enrolled or will be enrolled in a college, university, or trade school, you may apply for this scholarship.
What We Are Looking For:
Your essay must express your opinion in a thought-provoking and creative way. We are looking for an original, well-researched, and convincing piece of content.
Submission Guidelines:
After you’ve completed the essay, send it as an attachment to chadtowers87@gmail.com. Your article can be submitted as a PDF (preferred) or a Word Doc.
You should also include the following information:
- Your full name, telephone number, and mailing address
- The name of your academic institution (If you have been accepted to a school but haven’t started classes yet, include the name of the school you will be attending.)
- Proof of enrollment
- Your area of study
- Applicants should also provide a link to their Facebook profile. (Optional)
By submitting your essay to The Blade Guru, you grant us permission to use your content on our website for marketing and promotional purposes.
Deadline:
The submission deadline is June 16th, 2017. The winner will be selected on June 30th, 2017 and notified via return email. The prize must be claimed within 1 month of the announcement date, after which another winner will be chosen. We run our scholarship program a few times a year.
